About

Dr. Andrew J. Kaiser III is a seasoned Doctor of Veterinary Medicine whose professional career reflects more than 40 years of dedication to animal health, client education, leadership, and community service. Based in Quincy, Illinois, he has spent decades building trusted relationships with pet owners while providing comprehensive veterinary care for a wide variety of species.

After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in 1975, Dr. Kaiser began practicing at West Quincy Veterinary Clinic, where he worked from 1976 through 1984. In July 1984, he founded Katherine Road Animal Hospital, a practice that would become widely recognized throughout the region for its commitment to quality veterinary medicine and compassionate client care.

Under Dr. Kaiser’s leadership, Katherine Road Animal Hospital became the first veterinary hospital in the area to achieve accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), maintaining that recognition for approximately twenty years. The hospital provided medical and surgical care for companion animals, small mammals, exotic pets, wildlife, and birds of prey while also supporting the City of Quincy Animal Shelter with specialized veterinary services.

Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Kaiser developed expertise in veterinary hospital management, staff training, pharmaceutical oversight, surgery coordination, diagnostics, and client communication. He consistently emphasized continuing education, professional accountability, and creating a supportive environment for both staff members and clients.

His passion for wildlife conservation led him to establish and direct a raptor rehabilitation program where injured birds of prey and other wildlife received specialized care. He also played an active role in educating the public about responsible wildlife stewardship and animal welfare.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Kaiser has dedicated significant time to community service, including leadership roles with Kiwanis International, service on the board of Chaddock, volunteer work with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, local food programs, mentoring students, and substitute teaching. A devoted Christian, he remains actively involved in church ministries, music, and community outreach.
